Hudson River Blog
Created by a sophomore seminar at Hamilton College, this blog considers the past, present, and future of the Hudson River, once described by Robert Boyle as "the most beautiful, messed up, productive, ignored, and surprising piece of water on the face of the earth."

This is an example of reducing pollution before it damages the environment, which Emma recently discussed in response to discussion of PCB clean-up. Fixing storm drains and septic systems will prevent pollution at the source and also prevent the subsequent expenditure and controversy when the pollution is discovered and people try to reverse its effects, such as with PCBs in the river. Identifying pollutants and sources of pollution before they become problems saves time, money, and lives.
